Food Served on….Food…
In this eco-friendly day and age there are constantly new, more sustainable alternatives popping up on the market to replace products that has a negative impact on our environment.
Our disposable tableware are made from organic waste materials such as byproducts of sugarcane production (bagasse), naturally shedded palm leaves and rest wood, materials that otherwise would have gone to waste.
But there is a new sustainable star on the horizon, plates and trays made from food scraps. A great idea that covers the staggering food waste issue we experience all over the world.
The designer behind the ide, Michela Milani thought to add another step to the composting process by transforming food scrap to make biodegradable tableware. After use the plates can be dissolved in water and added to the soil as enrichment.
