Symbiose [sɪmbi'jozə] – The mutualistic coexistence of two dissimilar organisms.

Mutual ground was found between The Jane’s Michelin star chef Nick Bril, designer Yaara Landau-Katz (One and Many) and Natural Tableware based on one aspect in particular; plates! The three parties came together to merge their professional points of views and experience to create Symbiose.

Chefs are on-the-go more than ever, taking their kitchens outside of the restaurant to festivals and events. One of the key elements for chefs is striving for the optimal presentation of their dishes, which is ensured  by the gastronomic characteristics and high end design of Symbiose.

Consisting of 3 different sized bagasse bowls and a top/side plate, Symbiose brings sustainability, quality and design together. Character and gastronomic representation is guaranteed at any type of function; the three parties’ key elements in complete symbiosis.

Design & Inspiration

logo-onemanyThe design behind Symbiose is the result of three parties combining their expertise. The esthetic design element behind the design of the tableware was made my an experienced ceramic designer, Yaara Landau- Katz from One & Many. The design drawings and final result was influenced by the Michelin star chef Nick Bril’s knowledge about food presentation and how food react to certain shapes and materials when plating and presenting dishes. Finally, Natural Tableware, with their experience about the functionality and structural aspects of the design and what is possible to do with the material bagasse.

Together all parties influenced the design and the final end result of Symbiose. Consisting of 3 different sized bagasse bowls and a top/side plate, Symbiose brings sustainability, quality and design together. Character and gastronomic representation is guaranteed at any type of function; the three parties’ key elements in complete symbiosis.

Production

The production of Symbiose takes place in a private factory in China under fair and safe working conditions. We work in close cooperation with the team members of the factory with a steady stream of communication. We monitor the production from afar to ensure a certain level of quality is upheld and maintained to deliver consistency.

Packaging

Symbiose comes in packs of 50  -and 20 pcs, wrapped in a transparent cover with a black and white, circle shaped label on both the front end and back end of the package.
